MEMBERS WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT... to create a BYC Members’ Benefit Scheme
Aim: to value add to our current membership card and provide our members with more benefits by creating a Members Benefit Scheme.
How does it work? On presentation of your BYC card and proof of identity you would be eligible for a discount at partnering businesses who join this scheme.
The Club is currently looking for businesses who would like to partner with us and is offering members who have their own business the opportunity to become involved in the scheme. Benefits for the participating businesses
BYC has over 900 members you could attract to your business by offering some type of discount on your products or services. This scheme would provide your business with the opportunity to raise its profile in the local community and increase your customer base.
Your business name would be promoted to BYC members.
Your business name, logo with hyperlink and your offer to members would be displayed on the Membership page of the BYC web site.
Participating businesses would also be given the opportunity to provide the Club with a half page or smaller advertisement to place in the BYC newsletter, at no cost, up to four times during the year.
If you would like to be involved in this scheme please contact Phil Jackman, General Manager of the Bellerive Yacht Club, by emailing email@example.com or phoning 6244 1353 as soon as possible.
COMMODORE'S QUIET CORNER
Nominations for Flag Officers and General Committee will be formally advertised next week and now is the time for you to consider the possibility of nominating for a position on the Board and making a contribution towards the running of the club. It is not as hard or time consuming as you may think, if you believe that you can make a difference then nominate and have a go at the very least talk to a current Board member and seek their advice.
SAILING SEASON 2017-18
COMBINED CLUBS MIDWEEK SERIES - RACE 6 Another trifecta for the BYC Midweek yachts with “Piya” “Galapagos Duck” & “Madman’s Woodyard“ taking first, second and third respectively on corrected time in Race 6 of Series 3. It was a day with the “lot”, minutes before the first start a forecast weak cold fronted rolled down from Mt Nelson still packing a punch though with 25-30 knot winds. The strong wind was short lived however, but not before sending the plucky little Thunderbird “Piya” and Half Tonner “Madman’s Woodyard” hurtling towards the first mark “R” off Macquarie Point, from then on it was moderating wind for the rest of the race. RO Barry Bedford was left shaking his head in amazement as the wind went through every direction of the compass and dropped out to a mere “trickle”.
“Piya” and “Madman’s Woodyard” made the most of the strong breeze for the first leg
Enjoy the comforts of a late-model production yacht coupled with the performance of a Farr-designed hull. 'Y-Nacht' presents in top condition and comes with an extensive inventory list including bowthruster, full-surround cockpit clears, inflatable dinghy on davits, liferaft, plus heaps more.
Down below, you'll find beautiful timber finish throughout and ample space to entertain guests. With three double cabins and two bathrooms, Y-Nacht is ideal for long-distant travels for a large family or as a live-aboard. Several windows and hatches make for a light and airy interior.
The vessel is tough enough to handle the rigors of blue water cruising while providing uncompromising comfort for the crew. The huge cockpit is the entertaining center when in port or at anchor.
At this price 'Y-Nacht' represents EXCELLENT VALUE. We highly recommend you take a look.
