Race For The Sake of a Race

With a bit of a gap in the sailing calendar, BYC has decided to have “A Race For The Sake Of A Race”. On Sunday the 29th of August, BYC will be hosting a race for the sake of having a good time sailing.
There will be No Entry Fee, No Sponsors, No Prizes, just bragging rights. There will be however a social event post-race with, Good Food, Good Friends and it’s pretty likely you’ll have a Good Time.
Our Chef will be cooking up a storm downstairs and bar staff will be keeping all hydrated.
Spontaneous “FUN” awards may be presented at the social event post-race. You’ll have to be there to win.
So, if you didn’t race the winter series and have forgotten some of the names of your crew, now is the perfect time to dust those cobwebs off the rigging before the start of the summer sailing season.
This is a carefree fun day for all sailing vessels alike and all are welcome. The aim is to have a good time.
The First Group will be starting at 1100 and back at the bar by 1400 at the latest.
The relaxed race format will consist of staggered starts, with like vessels grouped into divisions, all divisions will be racing the same course and starting at 5 minutes increments. You can hoist a kite if you wish or just sit back and enjoy the view, there’s no pressure either way.
